DIY Holiday Stocking Knitting Pattern

A million years ago, before the days of the accessible internet, I decided I MUST knit Christmas stockings for family. I had 2 very small kids at the time. I remember those days so fondly - my girls were delightfully easy children and I had no idea how easy I had it until the others came along.

I scoured the library and found nothing to help me. Finally, I found a math formula that describe making socks posted on the internet. It was just a word document, but I sat night after night with that article and slowly figured it out.

Does that sound tedious? Overwhelming?

GOOD NEWS!

It won’t be like that for you! The Easy Holiday Stocking Knitting Pattern has ALL the steps covered to guide you along the way. The goal is to have follow along VIDEOS by next Holiday season.

This pattern uses Bulky yarn and size 9mm (US 13) 16” circular needles and size 8mm (US 11) double pointed needles.

I chose to use a larger yarn for the pattern for the beginners! Knitting a million stitches, with small yarn, can be a tricky way to learn something new.

Some great yarn choices are:

  • Lion Brand Thick and Quick

  • Hobbii Umami

  • Hobbii Tweed Delight, 2 strands held together to create a bulky yarn

  • Estelle Bulky

  • Berroco Vintage Chunky and Berroco Worsted - 2 strands held together.

Make it, because you can!!

xo, Kyla
