RED pants…
I decided I needed RED pants NOW. I whipped up these Pomona Pants in less then 2 hours. It is my third pair - I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pattern. Find the Pomona Pants Pattern HERE.
I cut a size 6 and add 3” to the length (I am 5’8”). A size 6 is slightly wider than the fabric folded in half… I cheat and just cut the crotch seams at size 2 and sew a small seam allowance as I near the crotch. Saves a ton of fabric!
My younger self wore red all the time - I had the best metallic red pants in the late 90’s…
Somewhere in the 2000’s, the colour red seemed to slip away and disappear entirely from my wardrobe. I would love to hear what a chakra expert would have to say about that…
Red has returned to my favour, but my requirements for sassy pants have changed - I now need a solid elastic waist and soft, dreamy LINEN.
A word on LINEN. It is not all made equal. Buy the wrong stuff and it will be stiff and itchy. I firmly believe in buying linen from the MAKERS - trust me, it is the best linen you will ever work with. The linen should be Otek Certified and from Latvia, Lithuania, Belgium, etc - NOT China. The problem with poorly produced linen is how short the fibres are. The fabric will pill and wear out in no time.
This linen is from LinenDreamShop on Etsy. They are based out of Latvia. This linen is SO SOFT (I believe it is the Poppy red colour). I will definitely be purchasing more.
