Truth be told, I am a cat person.

I had my very own cat, named Mittens, when I was young. Sadly, I married a man that is perpetually allergic to everything and my cat days are over. Honestly though… I struggle to maintain the house and schedule as it is, I am not sure how I would add another life to be cared for.

The only reasonable step forward is to make cat dolls. They are so timeless and keep me in excellent company.

The Whimsy CAT Sewing Pattern was one of my earliest sewing patterns. My daughter longed for a cat and so a cat was created.

The pattern is suitable for beginners - you have to start doll making somewhere! What I love about making dolls, is that if they turn out a little wonky, it just looks artistic and interesting. Garment making is not quite so forgiving…
