A French Rag Doll..
Meet Ines, another doll created from the Greta Pocket Doll Pattern! She is on her to explore the shops in Paris and eat bread (I live through my dolls ;D).
Once again, I printed the pattern at 130%. When I enlarge the pattern, I do have increase my seam allowance on the legs and arms to 1/2" - 5/8” - otherwise the appendages would be rather bulky!
I used the beret pattern from the Peacoat, Beret, and Boots Sewing Pattern for the Greta Pocket Doll. I enlarged the beret to 120% for printing. I did try it at 130% and it was slightly too large. I source my felt from 3 places - the local quilting shops, Benzie Designs on Etsy, and the Canadian Felt Shop. I cannot express enough how important it is to use quality felt… Craft felt, which is mostly acrylic fibres, will pill and lose shape quickly - use the good stuff!
Her outfit is complete with a scarf from a thrifted cashmere sweater. Seriously the BEST wool for upcycling into new creations.
