Quilt for Pippa
This has been long overdue…
I went through a quilting phase when I only 2 kids. Needless to say, I was totally hooked and made a few quilts for each kid… then I had a 3rd… and quilting become more difficult to manage (plus I moved onto other making adventures), but I contrived to make him a couple of his own.
Then more kids came… the 4th and 5th kids have no quilts to call there own (except baby quilts, but those don’t count).
Here’s the thing about quilting. It’s legit. It take time, precision, and money. They are the ultimate 3D puzzle.
Quilts are truly timeless treasures. That is why I make them for my kids. Someday, when they are faraway, they will snuggle up in a soft, handmade quilt and remember HOME.
I have been determined to make quilts for my youngest 2 forever… and I finally made one!
About 6 years ago, I chanced upon a Darlings Jellyroll by @rubystarsociety … it was instant love and I had high expectations that would fashion a quilt from it for Pippa before I started full-time school. Needless to say it didn’t happen…
And THANK GOODNESS. Up to this time I have always ‘made up’ the quilt pattern, thus unknowingly doing it the most tedious way possible. As fate would have it, Pinterest came through with putting @thencamejune in my path… her Granny Cabin Quilt used the same fabric!!! GASP!!!
The pattern is MARVELLOUS and I learned so much.
And now Pips has a quilt of her very own to take with her forevermore and feel like home.
