A cowgirl and her horse

I finished Pippa horse on the eve of Halloween… I was attempting to surprise me, but she discovered me working away and instantly suspecting what I was doing.

Needless, to say, Pippa took over the design from there… She insisted on roving wool hair - which was NOT my first choice. Roving wool is GORGEOUS…. but attache loosely as the mane of a horse, it could be rather finicky. It definitely becomes an art doll, rather than a play vigorously with me doll.

However, Pippa promptly pointed out that she is well trained with using a felting needle and would be delighted to fit up her horse’s mane, if ever needed. I could not say no to that.

So roving wool it is.
